Tampa, FL – Mr. James Michael Phillips, Jr., 48, was reunited with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Tampa, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Pastor John Meyer officiating. Interment with honors to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Phillips served his country proudly in the United States Navy with service at sea from July 6, 1984 until February 9, 2003 including service during the Gulf War. He also served his community proudly with his service with the Richmond County Fire Department in the 1980’s. Mr. Phillips was the first in the Richmond County Fire Department to receive NPQ (National Professional Qualification).
Mr. Phillips is survived by his children, Nicholas and Rachael Phillips; his parents, James Michael Phillips, Sr. (Tracy) and Sherry Williams (L.A.); his sister, Rhonda Rosier (Charles); his grandmothers, Cleora H. Phillips and Jeanette Poplin; his aunts, Patty Thomas and Cindy Cumbee; his nephews, Kalef, Kyler, and Keller Rosier; and his cousin, Amber Thomas.
