Porras, Jose G., age 80, of Lynn, beloved husband of Maria F. (Garcia) Porras, died at Twin Oaks/Genesis Health Care of Danvers, April 3, after a brief illness.
Born in raised in Guatemala he was the son of the late Pedro and Mercedes (Soto) Porras.
Jose had been employed for many years at Union Hospital in Lynn working in the housekeeping department.
He is survived by his son Oscar Porras of CA and daughter Liliana Batres and her husband Juan of Lynn, grandchildren Bryan and Jackie Batres and Kenneth and Andrew Porras, his sister Amparo Porras of Guatemala, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alicia Porras and Angela Porras.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the NADWORNY FUNERAL HOME, 798 Western Ave., Lynn, Monday at 10 a.m., followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, Union Street, Lynn. Burial will be private. Visiting hours from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. prior to Mass.
