Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce that Beverly Billie Meadows of Ventura passed away at the age of 60 on Thursday, April 3rd, 2014.

Beverly was born July 10th, 1953 in Merced, California to Jean Tilley and Clarence Carter, before moving to Oxnard, California in 1955, where she later attended Santa Clara High School and graduated with the class of 1971.

After high school, she moved near Yosemite National Park, then the Grand Canyon area before settling in Flagstaff, Arizona, where in 1974 she met the love of her life, Brian Meadows, who thought he would never have a chance with the outspoken and beautiful Beverly. He was wrong; the couple married in 1976 and moved to Ventura a year later, where they started a happy, pet-filled home together and had two sons, Cameron and Loren. Beverly worked in new accounts and customer service at Great Western Bank until 2002.

Beverly Meadows will be remembered for many things: her love of animals, the beach, road trips, and baseball, her sharp one-liners, and her overwhelming generosity. But most of all, she’ll be remembered for her fierce love for her husband and children. Beverly is now watching over her family, as protective as ever.

Beverly’s family would like to express their appreciation to Assisted Homecare & Hospice, as well as Steve and Kim Guzinski of Ventura.

A memorial will be held at the San Buenaventura Mission on Saturday, April 26th at 9:00am. Donations can be made in Beverly’s name to the Humane Society of Ventura County, located at 402 Bryant St. Ojai, California, 93023 and humanesocietyvc.org.
