PEMBROKE — Ruth E. (Maxwell) Harrington, 83, of Pembroke, passed away on March 26 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.
Wife of the late Lloyd Harrington, she leaves behind a son, Michael C. Harrington, and his wife Michelle, and their daughters Emily and Maria. She was mother of the late Steven L. Harrington.
Ruth was born in Weymouth and grew up in Rockland the daughter of George and Mary (Norton) Maxwell. She graduated from Rockland High School in 1948. Ruth worked for Ocean Spray for over 30 years, helping to usher them into the computer age, and was a member of the Brockton Professional Woman’s Association. She spent many years after her retirement doing taxes for the elderly of Pembroke. She enjoyed traveling and playing games. Ruth was fortunate enough to still be living independently at her home on Furnace Pond.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St. (Rt. 3A), Plymouth on Saturday April 5, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Friends and relatives are invited to attend
