Obituary

Samuel “Sam” Simmons, age 68, of Natick, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, surrounded by family and dear friends at his home. Sam was the beloved husband of Mary (Molina) Simmons.

Born in Manhattan, NYC, he was the son of the late Domingo and Carmen (Rivera) Simmons. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Ann Simmons of AZ, and Emily Marie Simmons of FL; one brother, Anibal Simmons of FL; and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Simmons was a Program Analyst at Digital Equipment Corporation for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a paratrooper and later as a Medic. After the Army he was a First Lieutenant in the Massachusetts Civil Air Patrol.

Mr. Simmons was a man of great religious faith; Sam and Mary were among the founding members, and he currently served as an elder of The BRiDGE Metrowest Church in Natick, MA. He dearly loved his family, all children and teddy bears.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, March 30th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 31st, at 11:00 a.m., a Glenwood Cemetery, 50 Glenwood Street, South Natick.
