Phyllis D. Cecchini, age 62, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully March 24th, at her home with her family by her side, following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Alfred L. "Butch" Cecchini and together they shared 44 years of marriage. Born in Woburn, Phyllis was one of six children of the late Richard and Ann (Murphy) Sheridan.

Phyllis was raised and educated in Cambridge where she graduated from the Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School. Phyllis and Butch settled in Somerville shortly after they were married and together they brought two wonderful daughters into the world. Phyllis was a devoted wife and mother and nothing gave her more pleasure than being a doting grandmother to her two grandsons. Phyllis and Butch moved to Wilmington and have been residents there since 1989. Phyllis and Butch enjoyed vacationing and especially enjoyed traveling to Palm Harbor, FL where they would spend many good times with family and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband, Phyllis is survived by her daughters; Sandra Christopher and her husband Richard of Andover, and Sharon Cecchini of Wilmington. She was the loving grandmother of Nicholas and Owen Christopher. Sister of Stephen Sheridan of Wakefield, Edward Sheridan of Wilmington, Judy Sheridan of Westfield, Elaine Hupp of Wakefield and the late Richard Sheridan. Daughter-in-law of Gilda Cecchini of Somerville.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Thursday, March 27th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church, 2270 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
