New Bedford – Virginia daSilva, age 89 of New Bedford, passed away surrounded by her family, on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at New Bedford Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Manuel DaSilva and the daughter of the late Amelia (Pacheco) and Joao Pacheco. She was born in Graciosa, Azores and lived in New Bedford since 1981. She enjoyed watching the Portuguese and Spanish Channel.
She was survived by her children: Lucia Gil and her husband Jose of New Bedford, Paul Jorge Silva of Portugal, Duarte Silva of Dartmouth, Teresa Furtado of New Bedford and Gabriole Silva of New Bedford; her grandchildren: Ana Levesque, Cliff Furtado and Patrick Furtado; great granddaughters: CJ Levesque, Haley Furtado and Lilly Furtado and 1 great great grandson SJ Dextradeur.
Visiting hours will be Thursday morning in the funeral home from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. with a Religious Service to begin at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
