Gregory A. Madera age 66 of Sharon passed away at home March 22nd surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, NJ, he graduated in 1965 from Union High School in Union, NJ. Growing up in New Jersey he became the youngest scout to become an Eagle Scout at the age of 13. He went on to earn his Bachelors in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Civil Engineering and Science from M.I.T. and graduated from Harvard Law School Class of 1976. Greg worked as an Intellectual Property Attorney for Fish & Richardson P.C. in Boston and Minneapolis since 1976. He has lived in Sharon since 1977 and enjoyed spending summers at their home in Osterville. He was an avid sports fan and was a season ticket holder for both the Boston College Football and Basketball Teams. He was an avid golfer and runner and was a member of the Sharon Road Runners Club. He was also a model train enthusiast and collected Lionel Trains. He had a greenhouse at his home and loved growing flowers, especially Orchids. Beloved husband of Audrey J. (Ehrlich). Father of Cornelius J. Madera III and his wife Ariel of Attleboro and Nathaniel J. Madera of Sharon. Grandfather of Marie R. Madera of Attleboro. Brother of the late Cornelius J. Madera II. Brother in law of Marjorie Madera of Osterville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church 59 Cottage St. Sharon Friday morning at 10 am. Burial private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Harvard Vanguard Kenmore Oncology Department 133 Brookline Ave Boston, MA 02215.
