Obituary

Richard Franklin “Dick” Wright, 89, of Natick died Wednesday March 19, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital in West Roxbury.
He was the beloved husband of Virginia (Lucy) Wright sharing 62 years of marriage. A Natick resident for 61 years he was born November 3, 1924 in Darien Connecticut the son of the late Emory Merrill and Ethel (Spencer) Wright.
Mr. Wright worked in advertising sales with the Boston Post, New Englander Magazine, M.I.T.’s Technology Review and the Tab. He was also a salesman at Herb Connolly Buick.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army as a scout in the European Theater and was awarded several medals including the Purple Heart. He also worked a liaison helping people displaced by the war return home.
Known as an incorrigible punster, he was always loving and supportive of all his family’s activities including Comets hockey and Natick High School sports and the arts. In retirement he volunteered for many years at the Natick Food Bank.
In addition to his wife he is survived by five sons, R. Spencer Wright of Somerville, Steven M. Wright and his wife Susan of San Mateo CA, Philip C. Wright of Natick, Jeffery B. Wright of Charlestown NH, J. Douglas Wright of Natick, and eleven grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday March 29 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Congregational Church, 2 East Central Street, Natick.
Private burial at Glenwood Cemetery, South Natick.
