Beloved father of Joseph Gallant and his wife Diane of Saugus, Marianne Hansen and her husband Dale of Chelsea and the late Carol Ann DeRosa. Father-in-law of Victor DeRosa. Loving companion for 17 years to Alice Perry. Brother of Rita Moscatelli of Chelsea and the late Gerald Gallant, Aldine Catalano, Kevin, Paul, Jackie, Frederick and Robert Gallant. Cherished grandfather of Lisa Bell, Jamie DeRosa, Derek Gallant, Christopher LaChance, Joseph LaChance, John Hansen Kevin Hansen. Also lovingly survived by his great grandchildren David Bell and Victoria Bell, Ava Duarte and Audrina LaChance as well as many neices and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Monday, March 24th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway, Chelsea at 9 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-7 PM. Services will conclude will interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
Born in Chelsea and a resident here until moving to Revere, Joseph at 83 years of age passed away at Chelsea Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Ceneter. For many years he worked for Rev-Lynn Contracting in Winthrop and for over 25 years was a bartender at the French Club.
