Obituary

William Raymond Jenkin, a resident of Medford, Massachusetts and beloved husband of the late Doris (Garland) Jenkin, died at his home on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. He was 89 years old.
He was born on September 16, 1924, on the Calldwell Indian reservation in Washington State before moving to Butte Montana. In his journeys growing up he worked on many ranches such as the Rikenbacker as well as in the Copper mines of Butte Montana. At the out set of World War II he and his brother road their motorcycles to Bremerton Washington and joined the navy. They both and served on the battle ship New Mexico during World War II. At the end of World War II while on leave in Boston he met his wife of 60 years Doris (Garland) of Boston who also served in the Navy. Bill continued his service in the navy serving in Korea and Vietnam before retiring. At which time he began working for the city of Medford School Department.
He was the loving father of Bill Jenkin and wife Annette of Aledo TX,Terry Roberto of Reading and Elaina Colwell of Medford. Dear uncle of William Garland. Cherished grandfather of Billy, Eric, Chris, Jareod and Morgan Jenkin, Kyle and Taylor Whitaker and Stephen, Ryan and Danny Colwell as well as seven great grandchildren. His funeral service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Ave., Medford, Friday at 1 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be, prior to the service, from 11 AM to 1 PM. Interment will be private. For additional information, please visit, www.magliozzifuneralhome.com.
