Obituary

"Time to Say Goodbye"
The son of the late Conrad and Aldea Lavigne – Raised and schooled in Chicopee. He lived most of his life in West Springfield. A Veteran of the Second World War. Most of his service was in the South Pacific and Asiatic Theater – Worked for 38 yrs. in sales for Charles Millar and Sons Inc of Springfield and United Plumbing and Industrial Supply Inc of Springfield. Predeceased by his wife Helen (Kopasky) Lavigne in 1981 and a brother Conrad Jr in 1976. He leaves a sister and brother-in-law Anita and Richard Gaudette of Needham, a sister-in-law Jeannette Lavigne of Chicopee, 7 nieces and nephews and their spouces, 14 great nieces and nephews, 8 great greatnieces and nephews. Lee also leaves a longtime friend, Nurse Marion Halpy, who was there in time of need and Irene Bernacki, a companion and great person. Lee wishes that you do not mourn his passing, but that you celebrate the spirit and love he had for many as he watches over us. Take a moment to reflect upon your fondest memories of him and smile. His claim was that he has had a good life. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Fri Mar 21, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Mass Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St, Agawam MA 01001. Grise Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donations may be made in Lionel’s memory to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 516 Carew St Springfield MA 01104.
