Obituary

James P. Keating of Natick passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center of Natick. He was ninety-six years old.

Born in Natick on May 14, 1917, he was the son of the late Maurice & Jane (Casey) Keating.

A 1934 graduate of Natick High School where he lettered in hockey, football & baseball, he continued his education at the College of the Holy Cross.

Mr. Keating enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp and served our country proudly and honorably during WWII as a bombardier and was a prisoner of war for one year.

He began his career in insurance with the Craig Insurance Agency and in 1969, Fair & Yeager Insurance of Natick acquired the company and James joined Fair & Yeager at that time. He became the Vice President of Client Services and held that position until he retired at the age of 92.

A true gentleman and all around good guy, he was one of the first season ticket holders of the New England Patriots.

James was the caring brother of the late Joseph P. Keating & his late wife Mary & the late Mary Beksha & her late husband John. Loving Uncle of Anne Coveney, Ellen Cunniff, Kathleen Farley, Joan Wheeler, Martha Lydon & their spouses.

Also survived by several cousins, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces & nephews and his caregiver Karen Miscia of Natick.

Relatives & friends may call upon the family on Saturday, March 15th from 9:00-11:00AM in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30AM in St. Patrick Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick with Military Honors.
