Harry W. Sorensen of Natick died on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Metrowest Medical Center of Framingham. He was eighty-nine years old.
Born on December 4, 1924 in Arlington, Massachusetts, a son of the late Harry C. & Marion (Woodard) Sorensen, he was raised in Lincoln and Lexington, Massachusetts. A 1943 graduate of Lexington High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served our country proudly for eight years during WWII and the Korean War as a radio man first class.
Harry married Jacqueline M. (Goddard) Sorensen, the love of his life and after living three years in Washington, D.C, they settled in Natick and made Natick their home for almost sixty-eight years.
Mr. Sorensen worked as a supervisor with General Motors in Framingham for many years and enjoyed gardening, growing his prized tomatoes and summer squash, saltwater fishing, humming birds, nature and ping pong. He was a long time member of the Longfellow Health Club and in 1967 ran the Boston Marathon.
Along with his wife Jacqueline of sixty-eight years, he was the loving father of Nancy Jeanne Christen of Natick. He was the cherished grandfather of Heidi Jacqueline Christen of Boston.
Caring brother of Myrtle J. DeMao & her late husband Sam of Cape Cod, Marjorie Snyer & her late husband Harry of Acton, Dorothy Marquis & her late husband Lucein of Waltham, Edward Sorensen & his wife Roberta of Florida & the late Warren Sorensen. Also survived by many cousins and close friends.

A Funeral Service will be held in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Saturday, March 8th at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick with Military Honors. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00-8:00PM.
