Obituary

Methuen – Chester "Chet" John Wizboski, 75, of Methuen and formerly of North Reading and Lynn, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Bernadette (Elliott) Wizboski, to whom he was married for 47 years.

Born in Lynn on January 31, 1939, he was the son of the late Chester P. and Johanna (Andrulonis) Wizboski. Chet was educated in Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn Classical High School. He then earned his associates degree in labor relations and his bachelors degree in business administration from Northeastern University, where he graduated cum laude. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. He worked as a Vice President at Port Services, Inc for 26 years. Prior to that, he was a foreman for General Electric, where he helped assemble aircraft engines. Chet loved Walt Disney World and also had a love for cooking, often experimenting in preparing different cuisines. He also loved being a father and spending quality time with his whole family.

Chet will be deeply missed by his wife, Bernadette; his 5 children, Chester "Chet" John Wizboski, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie of Townsend, Francis J. Wizboski and his wife, Maria of Methuen, Bernadette Haidaczuk of Methuen, Wayne J. Wizboski and his wife, Hollie of Hudson, NH, and John D. Wizboski of Methuen; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; his dog, Meadow; and his 21 year old cat, Mittens.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Chet's life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 from 4 - 7 PM. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at St. Monica's Church in Methuen. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
