Dorothy Bearce Tilden, “Grandma Dot”, 99 years of age passed away on Friday, February 7th at the Sunrise Senior Living Center in Braintree. Dot was born in Weymouth where she lived her whole life. She was a graduate of Weymouth High School and Bridgewater State College and taught third grade for many years at the Pratt and Ralph Talbot Schools in Weymouth.
She was the beloved wife of the late Henry P. Tilden Jr. Dot was the loving mother of Edward P. Tilden and his wife Mariellen of Charlotte NC and David M. Tilden and his wife Jean of Weymouth. Grandma Dot was the devoted grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and also leaves a niece and several nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Marshall P. Bearce.
Visiting will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Tuesday February 11 from 4:30 to 6 PM immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 6 PM. Interment will be private.
