Obituary

Richard F. DeJoie passed away suddenly on January 28, 2014. He was 84 years old.

Richard was born and raised in the Mission Hill section of Boston and has been a resident of Malden for over 50 years. He worked for Polaroid Company in their warehouse for 26 years and prior to that worked for Hood Rubber Company. Richard was also a United States Marine Veteran during the Korean Conflict.

Richard was the devoted husband of the late Josephine (Sampieri) DeJoie. He was the son of the late Victor and Mary (Curran) DeJoie. Richard was the beloved father of Diane DeJoie and her companion Endre Barath of CA. He was the dear brother of Robert DeJoie and his wife Lorraine of Medway, John DeJoie and his wife Connie of Marshfield, William DeJoie and his wife Irma of Norton, and the late Eugene, Charles and Paul DeJoie and brother in-law of Marie DeJoie. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday February 4th at 9:00a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Sacred Hearts Church 297 Main Street, Malden at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Monday 4-8p.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
