Mrs. Juana Amelia (Diaz) Veliz, a resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Andres Veliz, died at the Mt. Auburn Hospital. She was 85 years old.
Born in Chile on December 18, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of the late Manuel and Rosa A. (Cortez) Diaz. Mrs. Veliz was a wonderful cook and loved her pet’s, especially her parrot. She also enjoyed her jewelry, going shopping and watching Telenovelas.
Juana will be very sorely missed by her loving children; Linda Maria Veliz of Medford, Gloria Veliz of Phoenix, Arizona and John J. Veliz of Medford.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Monday, January 27, 2014, at 12:30 PM. Many relatives and friends attended. Visitation was held on Monday, prior to the service, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. For additional information, please visit, www.magliozzifuneralhome.com.
