David Alan Burns, 51, of Water Valley, MS died Monday, August 26, 2013. Born in New Orleans, LA in 1962 to the late Willie and Mary Rice Burns, he graduated from the University of MS with a degree in journalism. He later graduated second in his class from UM Law School and was a practicing attorney in North MS for over 20 years. David was currently a practicing attorney in Water Valley and held a variety of positions in his career as City Attorney, Municipal Court Judge, and had been a volunteer coach for the Magnolia Youth League in Water Valley. He also had an immense love of music. He recorded and wrote songs, and played in various bands from high school until present. He attended First Methodist Church in Water Valley, MS.
David is survived by his wife, Amy Thrift Burns of Water Valley, MS; one daughter, Elise Burns of Water Valley, MS; and two sons, Alden Burns and Jack Burns, both of Water Valley, MS. No public services will be held, and the family will have a private time at a later date. | ||||
