Sylvia Carpenter Graham, age 58, died Friday, July 5, 2013 at her home in Water Valley, MS. She was born in Clarksdale, MS to the late Arthur Carpenter and Christine Varner Carpenter. Sylvia was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, flowers and spending time with her friends, family and grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm on July 8, 2013 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Rev. Ray Branch officiating. Burial will be in the Church Grove Cemetery in Lafayette County, MS with Jimmy Avant, Mickey Avant, David Daniels, Lynn Varner, John Milam and Eric Robertson serving as pallbearers. Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Dana Zuniga (Blass) of Pontotoc, MS; two sons, Marcus Garner (Wendy) of Hernando, MS and Paul Garner (Katie) of Oxford, MS; one brother, Lyndon Carpenter of Oxford, MS; her mother, Christine Carpenter of Water Valley, MS; and six grandchildren, Kana Carpenter, Alyssa Garner, Kimberly Zuniga, Jackson Garner, Logan Napier and Cara Garner. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Graham; her sister, Shirley Milam and two brothers, Kenneth Carpenter and Melvin Carpenter. | ||||
