John J. Lawson, age 73, of Mashpee, died June 26, 2013, at Cape Cod Hospital. He was the husband of the late Frances (Manta) Lawson. John was born in Queens, NY, son of John V. Lawson of Rotunda West, FL and the late Frances (Ryan) Lawson. For over 60 years he had been a resident of Levittown and Massapequa, NY before moving to Littleton, NH, and then Cape Cod. While living in New York, he was employed for 25 years at North Shore Towers in Floral Park. He was a member of the 32B&J Service Employees Union, and enjoyed time spent with his wife and family. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed gambling, horses, birds and music.
In addition to his father John, he is survived by three sisters Carolyn Montgomery of Brockton, Eileen Chace of Sandwich, and Victoria Lawson of Rotunda West, FL; two brothers William Lawson of Maui, HI, and Robert Lawson of Watford City, ND and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank Lawson.
Visiting Hours will be held in Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday 3-7pm. The Funeral Procession will gather at the funeral home Monday at 9:30am for a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 10:30am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
