Obituary

TAUNTON – Cynthia Rose (Perry) Mello, 73, died at her Taunton home on June 18, 2013, surrounded by her loving family following a long illness.
She was the wife of Ernest R. Mello for the past 52 years.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Henriques) Perry.
Raised and educated in Taunton, Cynthia was a 1958 graduate of Taunton High School.
She was employed as an operations supervisor by New Bedford Institute of Savings before taking early retirement in 1995.
She loved spending time with her family and friends at her summer home in Plymouth, and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and shopping on QVC. In addition to her husband, she leaves four sons, Kevin Mello of Carver, Christopher Mello of Plymouth, Eric Mello and his wife Brenda and Jeffrey Mello and his wife Monica, all of Taunton; a sister, Sandra Elderkin of Naples FL; seven grandchildren, Tiffani, Derek, Tyler, Cassidy, Alyson, Cameron and Marissa Mello; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be private at the convenience of the family followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling Hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, June 21st from 4 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
