Alta N. List, a resident of North Andover, formerly of Fall River, died in Andover on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. She was 78.
Born and raised in Fall River, Alta was the daughter of the late Joseph and Celia (Oscar) List.
She was a teacher in her younger years, loved to play scrabble and enjoyed bowling. Ms. List had a wonderful sense of humor, was an avid reader, a sculptor and an author of much poetry. She was a very independent, adventurous woman, who traveled the world. She was always ahead of her time.
She will be thought of lovingly by her daughters; Cale and her husband Steven Daigneau of Mont Vernon, New Hampshire, Nina Joy Nyitrai of Australia and Ana Joyce and her husband Stephen Saltzman of Leonardtown, MD, sister; Rosalie List Israel of Boston, grandchildren; Amanda List, Samantha and Christopher Nyitrai and Lillian, Samuel, Katherine and Joseph Saltzman and her closest niece Carol Israel and several other nieces and nephews.
