TAUNTON – Olga (Gouveia) Figueiredo, wife of the late Nelson A. Figueiredo, died at her Taunton home with her family by her side, on Oct. 21, 2012.
She was 88.
A lifelong resident of Taunton, she was the daughter of the late John and Belmira (King) Gouveia, and the stepdaughter of the late Camille Gouveia.
She was educated in Taunton schools and was a homemaker for most of her adult life.
A communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Mrs. Figueiredo enjoyed collecting angels, and was often heard saying “Angels on your pillow.”
She enjoyed her faith, her family, and her friends.
Survivors include a son, Allen Figueiredo and his wife Sharon of Taunton; two daughters, Paulette LaCroix and her husband Marc of Taunton, and Susan Travers and her husband Alfred Costa of N. Dighton; two brothers, Robert Gouveia and his wife Catherine of Taunton and John Gouveia and his wife Cheryl of Assonet; a sister, Natalie Reed of Raynham; her daughter-in-law, Donna Figueiredo of Middleboro; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Nelson A. Figueiredo, Jr. and the sister of the late Louis Gouveia and Deanna Corey.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday Oct. 26th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 25th from 5 to 8 p.m.
