Theodore L. “Ted” LaFalce, 89, of Provincetown died on May 24, 2012 at Seashore Point. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (King) LaFalce to whom he had been married for 65 years. Mr. LaFalce was born in New York City on June 12, 1922 and was the son of the late Albert and Rose (Strumlauf) LaFalce. He and his wife first met in July of 1942, a couple of months after Mr. LaFalce sailed in Provincetown, as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard stationed at Wood End. Although he knew nothing about his new surroundings, he soon fell in love with both the town and his beloved Dorothy.

He is a graduate of the New York High School of Commerce class of 1940. During World War II he served on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter the Algonquin when it was part of the Greenland patrol. He was also stationed at the Cape Cod Canal and at the end of the war he served on the USS Brunswick toward the end of the war.

He and Dorothy were married in 1946 and shortly thereafter they moved to Long Island, NY where he was employed as a dental technician. They lived there until returning to Provincetown in 1967. At that time he went to work as the parts and service manager for Cape End Motors which was located on Bradford Street. From his years in the Coast Guard and his life Provincetown, Mr. LaFalce loved the ocean. When he was not working or spending time with his family, he would be fishing or playing his guitar, his two favorite hobbies..

Besides his wife he is survived by his two daughters, Edith LaFalce and her husband Louis Testa of Beaverton, Oregon and Emily Canto and her husband Joseph of Glastonbury, CT and 4 grandchildren; Logan, Kevin, Kerry and Brady Testa all of Beaverton, Oregon. A graveside service for Mr. LaFalce in St. Peter Cemetery will be private
