Mrs. Catherine J Macedo, age 85 of Medford died Friday in the Aberjona Nursing Center Winchester. She is the wife of the late John Macedo. Mrs. Macedo was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Giovanni and Filipa (Piereillo) Adragna. She was educated in Boston schools and is a graduate of East Boston High School, class of 1945. She spent her childhood years in East Boston, moving to Medford shortly after high school. She enjoyed playing cards and occasional trips to Foxwoods. She will be remembered as the family “caretaker” always looking after someone. She loved family gatherings and seeing her grand and great grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter: Denise DeConto and her husband Ricar of Burlington, 2 grandchildren, Lisa DeRosa and her husband Chris of Burlington, Ricar DeConto Jr. and his wife Nicole of NH and 5 great grandchildren. Loving sister of Phyllis Rizzo of East Boston, Frank Adragna of FL, and Joseph Adragna of Wakefield. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home 306 Main Street Medford on Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Followed by a funeral mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 pm. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
