Lydia (Duarte) Malone, age 99 passed away March 30, 2012. She was the widow of Joseph Malone and daughter of the late Joseph and Gloria (Martin) Duarte. Mrs. Malone last worked at Weintraub Fabrics as a clerk. Previously she worked as a sewing machine operator. She was an avid bingo player and a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Lydia was the mother of Milton Malone of Fall River, Russell Malone (wife Geraldine) of Swansea and Vivian Fitzgerald (husband William) of Fall River; grandmother of Russell Malone Jr., Thomas, Carol, Christopher and Kenneth Malone, Susan Malone Couto, William, Scott and Kevin Fitzgerald; great grandmother of Kelly Malone Meehan, Ryan, Sara, Brendan, Ian, Kaleb, Cleo, Mia and Mara Malone, Christopher Couto, Chad, Jacob, Sadie, Jack, Phillip and John Fitzgerald; great great grandmother of Owen and Liam Meehan and Riley and Tripp Malone, sister-in-law of Carol Rocha, aunt of several nieces and nephews and sister of the late Joseph Rocha Duarte, Arthur D. Rocha and Edmund D. Rocha.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral 1521 N. Main St., Fall River MONDAY with calling hours from 8:00 to 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, Essex St. at 10 A.M. Interment in Newport Memorial Park.
