Beloved step-father of Karen DePatto and her long time companion Stephen Valenti of Salem and Christine DePatto-DiGiovanni and her husband Edward of Malden. Brother of James Tassinari and his wife Jean of Harwich and the late Richard Tassinari. Cherished grandfather of Edward and Michael DiGiovanni. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Tuesday, march 27th at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Monday from 5-7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
A lifelong Chelsea resident, George passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning at Massachusetts General Hospital shortly after admittance. A machinist by trade, he was employed by American Optical until its closing and then for another 13 years at McCord Winn in Winchester. A United States Air Force veteran during the Korean Conflict, he was 74 years of age.
