Obituary

WEBSTER – Cecelia C. (Gorski) Brisbois, 92, of Webster, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 after being stricken ill. Her husband of 55 years, Levi F. Brisbois, died in 1996.

She leaves 2 sons, Jean A. Brisbois and his wife Sara Heller-Brisbois of Webster, and Girard C. Brisbois and his wife Lauren of West Barnstable; 4 daughters, Elizabeth A. Seraphin and her companion Arthur Remillard, Jr. of Sutton and Florida, Elaine M. Graham of Acton, Lorene Johnson-Chausse and her husband Raymond of Webster, and Christine McSweeney and her husband Vincent of Quinebaug, CT; 11 grandchildren, Susan Seraphin, Joseph Seraphin and his wife Jean, Gregg Seraphin and his companion Tara Gagner, Jay Graham and his wife Alina, Carolyn Brady and her husband Jason, Matthew Johnson, Katie Johnson and Vincent McSweeney, Nicole Brisbois, Abby Brisbois and Cecelia “Cece” Brisbois; 5 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; a brother, Thomas Gorski and his wife Reine of Webster; her sister-in-law and traveling companion, Gladys Gorski; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta T. “Bobbi” Brisbois in 1972.

She was born in Thompson, CT and raised in Webster, a daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Napierata) Gorski. She lived here most of her life. She was a graduate of Bartlett High School.

Mrs. Brisbois was a waitress at Point Breeze for many years before she retired. However, the main focus of her life were her children and grandchildren.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne. She was an avid reader who enjoyed playing bingo and cards, and bowled in leagues until last year. She lived a long and enjoyable life.

The funeral will be held Monday, March 26, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, March 25, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to Saint Anne’s School Memorial Fund, 12 Day Street, PO Box 818, Webster, MA 01570-0818.
