Delphine “Della” Brown, of Reading, passed away peacefully on March 20th 2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was a young 102 year old. She resided in Reading for over 77 years.
Della was born on January 25th , 1910, the daughter of the late Henry Pineau and Sophie (Poirer) Pineau in Bloomfield Prince Edward Island Canada. She was married on July 24, 1935 in Bloomfield, PEI to Cyrus Brown. Della was pre-deceased by her 2 year old daughter Lorraine in 1953 and her husband of 59 years in 1994.
She is survived by her daughter and care taker Marilyn MacCaughey and her husband Robert of Reading, a son Joseph Brown and his wife Patricia of Weston, a son Albert Brown and his wife Pamela of Rockport, ME., and Venice FL., a son Leonard Brown and his wife Lynne of Hudson, NH., a daughter Helen LeBlanc and her husband Harry of Lynnfield, and a son Thomas Brown and his wife Nona of North Reading. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Della is also survived by her younger sister Emma Gallant of Ontario Canada.
Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. Reading Friday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Della’s Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. at 10:30am.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrance’s with the family on Thursday from 5-8pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants will be available.
