Mrs. Santina (Assortato) Fiore, a long-time Medford resident, died at home Monday in the company of her loving family. She was 84.

Born in Gaeta, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Michele and the late Maria (DiChiappari) Assortato. Raised in Somerville, Santina lived in Medford for over 60 years. She worked as a seamstress for the former Meltzer’s Sportswear in Medford. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed the company of her relatives and friends.

The beloved wife of the late Ricco Fiore, She was a devoted mother to John Fiore of Dorchester, James Fiore and his wife Debra of Medford, Rosemarie Fiore of Medford and Richard Fiore of Tewksbury. Santina is lovingly survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was a dear sister to Cosmo Assortato and the late Luigi and Frank Assortato.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, March 23rd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
