Obituary

Mrs. Julia M. (Pals) Rose, of Taunton, died Monday, March 19 in Marian Manor following a lengthy illness. She was born 89 years ago in Avon, the daughter of the late Henry and Florentina (Mintiens) Pals. She was educated in Avon and had been a Taunton resident for the past 61 years. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a clerk in the Taunton District Court for over 25 years. She was previously employed as a proofreader at the Ad-A-Day Company of Taunton for a number of years. Julia enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid sports fan.
She leaves: 2 sons: David John Rose of Providence, R.I., and Stephen B. Rose and his wife, Grace of Assonet; 1 daughter: Gale M. Reid and her husband, Richard of Taunton; 3 grandchildren: Christine L. Garnham and her husband, Larry, Jocelyn Rose, and Jeannette Rose; 2 great grandchildren: Tiffany and Nicholas Garnham, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Paul R. Rose of Taunton, and was the sister of the late Katherine Arren, Joseph Pals, Louise Pipia, and Janette Ryan.
A Visitation will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Thursday, March 22, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
