Obituary

Ruth W. (Hutchinson) Weeks, 93, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Arnold N. Weeks.

Born in Salem on Nov. 1, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret (Wilkins) Hutchinson, Ruth was raised and educated in Danvers and was a lifelong resident of Centre Street. She was a graduate of Holten High School and the Perry Normal College.

For many years, Ruth owned and operated the Highlands Kindergarten in Danvers.

A lifelong member of the First Church of Danvers, Ruth was a member of the Ladies’ Benevolent Society. She was a tireless worker for the Highlands Bean Supper every year and lovingly cherished spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Arnold Weeks Jr. and his wife Linda of Norway, ME and Alan Weeks and his wife Gail of Danvers, four grandchildren, Erik Weeks and his wife Leslie of New Gloucester, ME, Kirsten Hale and her husband Thomas of Scarborough, ME, Nils Weeks and his wife Amy of Danvers, and Chris Weeks and his wife Katy of Danvers, six great-grandchildren, Jacob and Thomas Weeks, Victoria and Matthew Hale, and Brandon and Austin Weeks, a sister-in-law, Edith Hutchinson of Waterboro, ME, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Alfred “Firp” Hutchinson.

Her Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, Apr. 7, 2012 at 10AM in the First Church of Danvers Congregational, 41 Centre St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. As requested, there are no visiting hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Church of Danvers Congregational, 41 Centre St., Danvers, MA 01923.
