FRAMINGHAM: Frances I. “Fran” (Moore) Carroll, 93, died peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2012 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Sherborn on June 4, 1918 the daughter of the late Raymond L. Moore and Ida (Rollins) Moore.
Fran is survived by her devoted children; Dennis S. Carroll and his wife Josephine of Kensington, NH; Susan F. Sutherland and her husband Ken of Naples, FL and John A. “Jack” Carroll and his wife Brenda of Oxford. She was the sister of Richard Moore of Framingham. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Stephen A. Carroll who died on June 22, 1978 and sister of the late Barbara Nichols; Raymond Moore; Ruth Rogers; Ralph Moore; George Moore; Roland Moore and Florence McKinstry.
Fran has been a lifelong resident of Framingham and was a graduate of Framingham High School. For over 25 years she was a telephone operator with the New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. of Framingham. For many years she was associated as a waitress with the famous Mansion Inn in Cochituate during its notable years. Fran enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. She loved to travel with her family and friends throughout the United States and Bermuda. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all of the lives that she touched in her 91 years.
Memorial visitations will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm in the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland. A Memorial service will follow beginning at 7:15 pm.
At the request of her family interment will be private at the Edwards Cemetery in Framingham at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Fran’s memory may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 and would be appreciated.
