Obituary

Callahan, Leo W. of Quincy, passed away February 14, 2012. Beloved husband of Maureen (Kane) Callahan of Quincy. Loving father of Daniel Sampson and his wife Amy of Quincy, Michael Sampson and his wife Katie of Quincy, PFC Joseph Callahan, United States Army of Quincy and Justin Callahan of Quincy. Devoted brother of Helen Harkins of New Jersey, Ann Hawkins of Rhode Island, Thomas A. Callahan and his wife Lynda of Quincy, John Callahan and his wife Barbara of North Carolina, Frank Callahan of Quincy and Stephen Callahan and his wife Judith of Weymouth. Cherished grandfather of Nathan, Cameron, Ryan and Bella. Dear brother in law of Carol Coutts.

Leo grew up in Hull before settling in Quincy where he has lived for the past 57 years. He worked at Americold Logistics in Boston for 23 years as a member of The Teamsters Union Local #25 before retiring in 2011. Leo was a very loving man with a kind heart and soul. He enjoyed cooking on the grill, gardening, trips to Eastham with his wife and family. Leo was a Notre Dame fan and a huge history buff. Leo was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Airforce. Most importantly, Leo loved spending time with his family he so truly adored. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy.

Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
