Obituary

William Thomas Farrell was born in Nashville, TN. on September 5, 1921 to the late James W. Farrell and Laura Hunt Farrell. William was the second oldest son of five children: Reverend James Farrell, Reverend Benjamin, Reverend Howard Farrell and Albert Farrell, whom all have preceded him in death.
He attended Cameron School in South Nashville but left at an early age to join the Military. William was a great historian and was delighted in talking about his childhood and military experiencies. He served his country in the US Navy and had a short career in the US Army and retired from CSX Railroad in Nashville. While in the Navy he was assigned to the USS Munargo in 1941 and was off the coast of San Juan, Puerto Rico when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. William loved talking about that period of his life and would sometimes sing a song that was popular with the soldiers during WWII, "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition" and "We'll all Stay Free".
William gave his life at an early age to Christ and was proud to say "I am in good standing with the Lord" William leaves to mourn a devoted niece Barbara Farrell Jobe, nephew Albert Farrell, Jr., Robert Farrell, Howard Farrell, Jr., James Farrell, sister-in-law Katherine Farrell and other relatives and friends. Many thanks to the staff at Baptist Hospital and his care provider Stephanie Alexander.
