Obituary

BLACKSTONE—John F. Lynsky, Jr. 82, of Blackstone, died peacefully, Friday January 20, 2012 at Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center following an illness. He was the husband of Sally M. (Geiser) Lynsky.
Born October 28, 1929, in Boston, a son of the late John F. Lynsky, Sr. and Anna (Anderson) Lynsky he was a resident of Blackstone since 1999, and was a former longtime resident of Franklin.
He was raised and educated in Boston, and was a retired shipper for Corning Inc. of Medfield.
Mr. Lynsky, Jr. served his country during the Korean conflict in the United States Army, he attained the rank of Sergeant, and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, the Meritorious Unit Citation, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal, and he was honorably discharged in September of 1953.
His interests included traveling, camping, reading and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; John F. Lynsky, III, of Blackstone, Mark T. Lynsky and his wife Donna of Franklin, Paula A. Crandall and her companion Francis Molla of Franklin, and Sally A. Martello and her husband Bruce of Franklin.
Also surviving are his grandchildren Leah Hooker and her husband Peter, Sara & Bryan Martello, Michael & Timothy Lynsky.
His funeral service and interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital P.O. Box 3704 Memphis, TN 38173-3704 would be appreciated.
