Obituary

SULLIVAN, FRANCIS J. (SKIP/SKIPPY) of South Boston, January 14, 2012. Dear husband of Kathy (Stabins) Sullivan. Skip was the last of the nine Sullivan siblings, the children of the late Bill & Kit Sullivan. Skip was much loved by many nieces, nephews and their families. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier, U.S. Bunker Hill (CV17) from its first trip to the Pacific Theatre until February 1946. He was a survivor of a Kama-Kasi attack of the ship in May of '44. He worked for Perini Co, until he joined the MBTA and retired after 23 years. He was a Golden Card Member of Local 56, Pile Driver & Carpenters. Skip will be missed by all who knew & loved him for his bright smile & quiet way,especially his family, co-workers, neighbors & all who met him during his lifetime. It would be much appreciated in his honor to give to someone who could use help now a friend, family member, food bank. Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON, Tuesday from 3 - 8 PM. Skip's Funeral Mass will be held in St. Brigid's Church on Wednesday at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
