John W. Graham, Jr., 84, of The Villages, FL and Milo, Maine formerly of Needham died peacefully on January 7, 2012 at his home in Florida.
He was born in the family residence in East Boston on March 29, 1927 the son of the late John W. Graham, O.D. and Rose (Casey) Graham.
John is survived by his wife of 18 years, Meredith T. “Bobbe” (Taylor) Graham of The Villages, FL and Milo, Maine. He is also survived by his children, Jayne Graham Delorey of Wayland, John W. “Jay” Graham, III of Newton, Paul G. Graham and his wife Patricia Graham of Medfield and Pamela Graham Bryant and her husband John C. Bryant, Jr. of Wayland and his extended family including Chris and Kathy Petersen, Glenn and Robyn Petersen, Wendy Petersen and Gregg and Sarah Petersen. He was the brother of Marilyn Scott of Mansfield and Dr. Robert Graham, O.D. of Needham. He was the grandfather of Matthew, Colin and Sam Delorey, Eleanor and Denis Graham, Nicole, Thomas, Daniel and Sarah Graham, Katherine and John C. Bryant III, and Hayley and Morgan Petersen, Kirsten and Nikolas Petersen, Thomas, Matthew and Meghan Darcey and Ashlynn, Carter and Trevor Petersen and great grand-father of Haile, Obediah and Abigail Delorey, Conor Delorey and Robert Petersen. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years Eleanor P. (MacDermott) Graham.
John spent his formative years in Roslindale before entering the United States Navy and serving during World War II as a Pharmacists Mate, third class. He had a career of over 35 years with J& J Corrugated Box and was a member of the Charles River Country Club for 26 years. He was very proud of his 5 holes-in-one. After his retirement, he spent time on the Cape and in Florida. He and Bobbe enjoyed spending the past several summers on Big Boyd Lake in Milo, Maine.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 12:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (off Route 30), Wayland. Private interment will be at a later date in Bourne National Cemetery.
