Michael J. Duarte, 36, of New Bedford died November 9, 2011 unexpectedly.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Joseph M. and Rose Mary (Rapoza) Duarte, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Michael was employed as a carpenter with New England Carpenters Union Local 732.
He was a devoted father and enjoyed four wheeling and dirt bike riding.
Survivors include his parents; his fiancé, Sarah-Rose Varley of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Gabriella-Rose and Brenna-Rose, both of New Bedford; a brother, Steven Duarte of Fall River; 2 sisters, Tina Duarte and Lisa Duarte, both of New Bedford; his aunt, Maria Rodericks of New Bedford; an uncle, John Duarte of Alaska; 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great-nieces and a great-nephew and many cousins.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 18th at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in the Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, November 17th from 4-8 PM.
