Obituary

Jeanne "Muriel" Tessier, 83 of Cumberland Hill Rd. died Friday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Walter "Pete" Tessier. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Mena (Bazinet) Poirier. Muriel was a textile worker at the former Falls Yarns for several years, she also worked as a waitress at Debbie's Steakhouse, and the French Quarter for many years, and retired in March 2000 from Woonsocket Motor Inn where she was employed as a housekeeper. Muriel was the former treasurer of St. Germain Manor, she enjoyed bingo, knitting and crocheting, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Tessier of Woonsocket, and Timothy Tessier of Virginia Beach, VA, two daughters, Elaine Picard of Blackstone, and Jeanne Charlska of Woonsocket, two sisters, Suzanne Bruneault of Woonsocket, and Simone Lamontagne of N. Smithfield, eight grandchildren, fifteen great -grandchildren and one great- great- grandchild. She was predeceased by daughters, Rochelle and twins Janice and Christine, and siblings, Arthur and Robert Poirier, Alice Pyre, Florence Boiteau, and Phyllis Cook.
