Obituary

Kenneth W. McCarthy, a lifelong Townie, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following an extended illness. He was 75 years old.

Ken was born in Boston on August 28, 1938, a son of the late Anna (Grenda) McCarthy. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended the Boston Public School system and graduated from Boston Technical High School in Boston. Ken worked for Gamewell Company from 1962 to 1978 and then as a precision machinist for Gillette Razor Company from 1978 to 1999. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Foxwoods with his wife but most of all, he enjoyed the quality time he was able to spend with his family.

Ken is the beloved husband of 46 years to Janet E. (Austin) McCarthy. He is the devoted father of Lisa Faletra and her husband John of Stoneham and Ken McCarthy and his Amy of Wakefield. He is the loving Papa to Connor and Evan McCarthy of Wakefield and Emily and John Faletra Jr. of Stoneham. He is the beloved brother of the late Nancy Walsh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ken's Funeral on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours Friday, October 25, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
