While I never "met" Rose face to face, I feel as if I knew her through her daughter, Nancy Bell and her son-in-law, Raul DeSilva. Our occasions together never failed to include stories of Rose and perhaps Paul. Mostly the stories were humorous and they always amused us. If we were there at 8:30pm, trust me, the phone would ring. It would be Rose calling collect, Nancy would not accept the charges and would either call her right back or ASAP. Months prior to their annual summer trip to Boston they would begin stocking goodies for Rose. She may have been the first survivalist I knew for who knew pounds and pounds of shrimp and chocolate were all required to tide Rose over until next year's journey. Their preparations for trips to Boston never failed to include hair cuts, eyebrow waxings and maybe even a quick diet. These are things that Rose always noticed and never failed to mention. Upon arrival at Rose's residence, be it their (Rose's and Paul's) apartment or the nursing home, they knew a tour of Boston's grocery stores was on her list of must-dos. And not just one as each one had a certain item on the list at the best price. Never mind the cost of running the vehicle or the stress of the Boston traffic. I was and am truly sorry to hear about Rose's death. And oh so sorry to see Nancy grieving for her Mother. But Rose and her stories shall continue to entertain us for many years to come.

So sorry for your loss. I have nothing but the fondest memories of her. I always wished she were my Aunt Rose too.

Dear George and Nancy, I just heard the news of your moms passing. I am so saddened by it. She was such a fun loving person, so friendly and warm. After my mom passed at Epoch I couldn't bring myself to walk in there but was sad to not see ur mom. Please know how much I appreciated all u did for my mom, and how your mom and Pauline made her life so much happier at her end of life. If u can please email me your addresses. My brother John wants to reach you as well. Much love. Rest in the peace that you both were the pride of your mom. She also spoke of you with such love??

George and Nancy I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was a kind and loving mother and a friend to all. I saw her briefly at Epoch a few years ago, playing bingo, and she looked at me and when I said my name her face brightened and said Oh, Yes...Belinda. I loved that face and her warm smile. Lots of great memories and times together. My condolences to you both.
