My fiancee Gayle and I deeply mourn the passing of our longtime close friend Don. I have been attending record shows with Don for over 30 years, many times traveling together in support of each other. Our deepest condolences to you for the loss of your brother, father and grandfather. We will sorely miss Duck's banter and over-sized dynamic personality. His absence will be long felt as will his spirit be long remembered. Don was baby sitter to our dog Onslo many times in the recent past and was responsible for helping to save Onslo's life. Onslo loved Don very much, considering him part of his family and he will always be grateful for their time together. May you also find comfort in the memory of your times shared together with Don. Duck and i go way back. I was attending record shows in Salem,NH back in the 1970s. We attended many Red Sox games together. He'll be missed. May his memory be eternal. We had dinner in January and all we talked about was the upcoming baseball season. I am sure he's in rock n roll heaven with many vinyl gems getting the artists to sign them. R.I.P. My friend. We are so sad that you are no longer with us. We will so fondly remember and miss you. All the diverse styles of music you introduced us to. And you will also certainly be remembered for your pranks and ribbing to get a good laugh.Thank you for being such a great person and a big brother. We will, along with so many others, very much miss you. With love, your little sister Lisa and Parker Silva.

I knew Duck for years doing record shows and selling at the Hollis flea Market. We had similar tastes in music and we'd trade CDs back and forth. I'll really miss him. His knowledge of music was astounding and he had a great sense of humor. Rest in Peace, my friend.

I am shocked and very saddened by Duck's sudden passing. I'd known Duck for some 30+ years When I met him at a record show. We got along immediately, and he never once forgot who I was. I bought a lot of records from him, and to this day I can pull out an LP and say, I bought it from Duck!" Holding a record jacket I can well remember what a gentleman he always was and the patience and politeness and respect he had for the other dealers and the people going to the shows to buy. I well remember him bringing his nephew -IIRC - Chris to the shows to help out with his tables and milk crates of records. The two of them made a great pair. Duck was all heart and gold on the inside. Shows will never be the same without him - he was one of a kind. Irreplaceable. Not expendable. Please accept my sincere sympathies in your loss

Duck was one of the best, a classic record dealer from New England with an unflappable demeanor and an utterly wicked sense of humor. It was only a few weeks ago he and I were joking about his health in ways that would shock more straight people. He was a fixture, hilarious and constant, and without him it'll be less interesting in the record show scene for the whole region. Great to have known you Duck.

Tears of sadness for the loss of our dear friend Don. A gentle Giant with a personality to match. Always kind and honest with a wonderful sense of humor and a love of all things music and Red Sox. We traveled together for many record shows and street fairs... too many to count. Never a dull moment when your with Duck! We recently made plans for Duck to travel to North Carolina and do a record show with me...it would have been great. He will be missed by many and will always have a place in my heart.

Don was one of the few constants in the world of Record Fairs. He was always there with more boxes of music than I would ever want to deal with. He always had some new find or collection that he was excited about. He is also one of the reasons I have dozens of Wacky Wobblers. He will be much missed.

Don was an icon at record shows that my wife and I attended for several decades. His larger-than-life personality and gift for sarcastic wit brightened each event for many of us - I will never forget his booming laughter. His amazing history of great record finds made all the other dealers jealous when he would casually mention them, but we realized his hard work and deep knowledge were what brought him such repeated treasure hunting success. I will miss him very much and, as many of us will tell you, the record shows will not be the same without him. Our best wishes to his family and other friends who are sharing our grief in his passing. We will be sharing many memorable "Duck" stories that make us laugh for years to come and I think Duck would have wanted it that way.

I haven`t see "Duck" in many years but have many fond memories. We worked together for over 20 years and played lots of softball together. Duck was a genuine "nice guy",in my experience he didn`t have a mean bone in his body and will be sorely missed.

I'd like to express my deepest condolences to Don's sister Deb and the rest of his family. I meet Don more than 30 years ago and consider myself lucky to have been his friend. And Don was a great friend to have. Hard working, honest, generous and very funny. Many a road trip to buy and sell music would begin with him saying "Wait till you hear this.." or "Have I got a story for you!" I learned a lot from Don. His passion was music and his knowledge was incredible. We would call each other often when we had a question or to just catch up. I'm going to miss those calls the most. Just before I wrote this I listened to about a dozen voice mails Don left on my phone. I'm going to keep them for whenever I need a laugh or a smile. We last spoke Saturday night. Don called about 11pm which I thought was unusual because he was always early to bed on the night before a record show. He said he wasn't going to be able to make the show because he hurt his knee and it had taken him awhile to get upstairs to bed and so "wasn't going anywhere." Don had been through a lot the last few years with his health but he was tough as nails and I never heard him complain. We talked for about 5 minutes about upcoming shows and he gave me some inside info about who was going to be there that morning and what I should look for. Typically thinking of others when he wasn't feeling well himself. Don was not happy about missing a show but I said I'd call him on Monday to tell him all about it and he should rest up for the next show. Well Don, the show just wasn't the same without you. And everyone I've talked to said the same thing. It's just not going to be as much fun. Rest in peace my friend. You'll forever be remembered and missed.

I am so saddened to hear of Duck's passing. He was a great man and a good friend to me. He was also my son's godfather. The last time I saw him was last summer at a yard sale. And, of course, he was looking for records. We had lost contact for many years, so it was wonderful to see him again. Rest in peace, Duck. You will be greatly missed

So sorry to just now hear of "Ducky's" passing. I was a fellow worker with him for around 3 years at Bay State, in the Milling Dept. I still remember the levels of frustrated aggravation, we had together during our break periods, (LOL)! We used to get each other "wound-up' (over politics, mainly). I also miss his good-natured sense of humor. His smile often dispelled the grumpiness of his fellow workers, self included. He was not, however, above indulging in the practical joke either. Many is the time I can recall grabbing hold of one of my "Greased-Up" machine handles, compliments of "The Duck"!! I recall going to his place, and TRYING to walk through the narrow aisles he had somehow left between the towering stacks of "Vinyl" rows he had amassed!! Strangest thing though, if you asked him for any record, he could go "RIGHT TO IT", amazing! I know you will miss him dearly, and so do I. I can only hope that some of my 'rambling' will lighten the load a bit, with fond memories I will always have of my friend, "Ducky"! God bless you all, sincerely, g
