Dear Phil, Kevin, Brian and Marion: My heart breaks at the loss of my dear friend Danny. There are no words of comfort to provide relief from the pain of losing a father and husband. He is at peace with the Lord. I loved Dan Donovan. He was a great man. He lived life for a laugh. Everything he did, the parties he attended, the dinners he went to, the friends he helped, me included was because his heart and desire to help was bigger than he was. He was always there to help anyone in need. I respect Dan Donovan for the man he was to so many people. I will never forget the night I brought Catherine by to meet Danny and Phil. "Himself" dressed in an irish tweed jacket, dickie bow sitting on his favorite wing chair with a glass of mothers' milk by his side. He was larger than life. Always ready to have a laugh. I will forever miss him. There are so many stories one could tell about Dan. I know he'd hate to miss a good time, but we all have found memories of our friend Danny Donovan. May he rest in the peace and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ who offered Danny eternal salvation at baptism. Those who believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ for the sins of humanity and seek forgiviness will have eternal life with him. Danny, may you rest in peace. John D'Agostino

I worked at Mansfield Housing Authority for many years an had many interactions with Dan as a Board member, all of which were always pleasant. One of my fondest memories were when he would call the office just before lunchtime and say that he would like to bring pizza and asked what kind we would like him to bring. We would all sit down together and Dan would tell stories and make jokes. I have missed that and will remember his visits forever.

Phyllis I heard from my cousin, Sharon Cronin(Gladys' daughter lives in Cambridge)that Dan had died. I am so sorry to hear that he died unexpectedly. It has been a long time but to refresh your memory, I'm Floss's son and Mildren's nephew originally out of good old Fall River! Dan was a great guy when I knew him and reading about his life, he certainly lived it to the fullest with many accomplishments. You and your family have so much to be proud of. We will say a prayer and remember Dan for that wonderful smile and always there attitude to help anyone. We will also make a contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project in Cambridge in his honor. Take care and very sorry for your loss. Frank and Annmarie Taylor 20 Swifts Lane Darien, CT 06820

Dear Aunty Phyl, Marian, Kevin and Brian, We will always miss Danny very much. He will forever hold a very special place in our hearts. We still remember how excited we all got when he showed up at our house as Santa Claus and Jen and Mike never realized Santa spoke with an 'Irish brogue.' Or the times Sandy would come over and Danny would say: "Go on inside, Phyl's in there." And we have many, many more happy memories of him. May he rest in peace. With all our love, the Ptaschnik family

Dear Phyllis, Marion, Kev & Bri, I was so sorry to hear about the sudden loss of Danny. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to make it out there for the funeral, but I wanted to be sure to send you all my condolence & sympathy. I was fortunate enough to have grown up as a next door neighbor to you all & have many fond memories throughout my childhood of doing many things with you guys & of good ol' Dannyboy...or as we often called him 'Danielsan' which is actually a Japanese title of respect referring to a friend (from the movie 'Karate Kid')! Danny was always nice to us all and always ready & willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could! He was a hard worker (whether he actually knew what he was doing or not sometimes) he always tried! ;) I always got a kick out of how whenever he came up to us all as kids he would say "hey there gang"...his friendly way of saying hi to us all! He was always having or providing us all with a good laugh about something or another! I'm sure he will be missed by many & I will be thinking of you all during this unfortunate & difficult time. Continue to focus on all the good times & memories & the laughs that you all had throughout the many years you had together! Sincerely, Vinnie Grosso

Dear Danny's Family, My wife and I only had the privilege of knowing Danny for a short while, when we traveled to Naples to visit Sean and Barb in March, and Danny nominated himself as our unofficial tour guide. He took us to many of his favorite places, including a lunch spot on the water, the pier, the beach, and the Elks Club. Everywhere we went, he had a pleasant word to say to everyone. We met up with him a number of times at Sean's for meals and cards and cribbage. He was easy-going, and easy to love, and we looked forward to spending time with him again. We can only imagine, with genuine sadness, the extent of your loss. Please accept our most sincere condolences. We will remember Danny with great fondness.
