I only had the pleasure of personally working with Steve for a few short months here at Masoneilan. In those short months I began to learn how great of a guy Steve truly was, always there to help lend a hand and give his advice where ever possible. I can only imagine just how many lives Steve must have touched if he had such an impact on mine in a few months time. Rest in peace Steve, you will be missed by all.

May God be with you all during this time.

Jane, I was devastated to hear about Steve’s passing this morning. He really was about as great a guy as you could be. I am truly and deeply sorry for your loss. Please know that you will not be alone in your grieving. Steve was always willing to stop what he was doing to help you, he was great engineer, he had a good sense of humor, but above all, he was a genuine guy and a true friend. I will miss him dearly. With Sincerest Condolences, Peter and Jennifer Morley

Dear Gilleran family, Steve worked for me in 2012-2013. I remember him as one of the hardest working and most loyal employees Masoneilan had on the team. His personal demeanor was above reproach, and his relentless intellectual curiosity enabled him to find, research and resolve many issues before they became major problems. I relied on Steve for the tremendous value he added at work, but will remember him even more as a friendly, supportive man, willing to help out in any way he could without complaint, and who used his sense of humor at all the right times to keep me grounded. I am utterly shocked at his sudden death, and truly saddened that you have lost such a devoted family man. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Jeff Gordon

Dearest Jane, Dave, Jimmy and the rest of the Gilleran family, Our deepest sympathies to you all. We loved spending time with you all skiing, golfing and just hanging out. Steve was a wonderfully patient man (especially with Roberta's golf game). You could see his gentleness when he was with his sons. He clearly loved his Jane. God has added a great man to his flock.

Jane, I was stunned and deeply saddened to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you, the boys and your family. Steve was a dear friend and colleague and his loss is incalculable. There is an Irish Proverb that states, the work praises the man. Steve was by far the best manufacturing engineer that I every work with and he made every person who worked with him better at their jobs as a result of their collaboration. He pushed the window of productivity, not by demanding more from others but by innovative problem solving, creative thinking and ground-breaking testing and training, novel design and fabrication. He was the consummate team player, a patient trainer and a loyal friend to all who knew him. He was truly one in a million and he will be sorely missed in the manufacturing engineering community. Steve loved his family and when asked “what’s new with Jane and the boys” his eyes would sparkle as he gave detailed family updates. Be assured that Steve will always have a special place in my heart and will forever be a part of my Irish story telling repertoire.

Steve was a both a friend and co-worker when we worked together at Masoneilan. Steve's personality and mannerisms would always lift you when faced with those sometimes daunting tasks. I know Steve will be deeply missed by those he worked with and I know from the way Steve talked about his family and friends they will never forget. Warmest wishes to the families.

Dear Gilleran Family, It is with deep grief that I learnt the sad news of your loss. My acquaintance with Steve began about four years ago and we interacted frequently during our work day and got to know each other better with time. Steve was a fine professional and a gem of a person. He will surely be missed. I know that no words can alleviate your present distress; perfect relief is not possible except I will keep you all in my prayers so that God can give you the strength to pass through this tough time. Deep Condolences.

Dear Gilleran Family I met Steve when I came to Masoneilan in 2001 and during my time there as the plant manager I can say that Steve was one of the most admired and well respected workers on staff. His expertise in the area of manufacturing set him apart and his work ethic and attention to details separated him from many others. During my time Steve worked tirelessly to provide the best solutions for our plant and always worked to perfection. When there was ever a need for a novel idea there was only one person to go to - that was Steve G. I just stopped over to talk to Steve last week and he impressed me with the work he was doing on the first Robotic Welder for the plant. He pushed the envelope for technology to make the plant more competitive, and improve quality/cost. He always wanted to make Avon a better plant and help his fellow workers retain jobs. I'm shocked as so many others are and he will be missed. I can only imagine the father and husband he was as he was truly one of a kind. I am so sorry for your loss and my prayers go out to you.

Dear Mrs. Jane Gilleran, On behalf of myself and entire (Khan’s) family that words can’t express how saddened we are to hear of your loss. Please accept our deepest condolences. Steve was not only a colleague, but a great mentor to me. It was truly a privilege to ask for his guidance on various projects. Matter of fact, I just saw him on September 24, 2014 at a retirement gathering here at Avon, MA. He shook my hand and asked how was my family and told me that he was proud of me to achieve so much in a short period of time. To say Steve was a larger than life character would definitely be an understatement. He will always be remembered as a great team player, who went out of his way to help others! Believe me, every time I met Steve, it was truly a genuine pleasure. I pray that the many happy memories of Steve life with all of you will remain intact and with time overcome the sadness and pain that have accompanied your family will ease… Once again, please accept our deepest condolences. If you ever need anything please feel to write an email [email protected] or [email protected] or call 781-534-4249 Best Regards, Rizwan A. Khan

I have fond memories of our scouting days. I also was classmates with Kathy in high school. We send our heartfelt prayers and condolences to all of your family.

Dear Gilleran Family, and friends: My heart felt sympathies are sent to all of you as you mourn and celebrate the life of Steven. I was a 1076 HS classmate of Steve's. I grew up in Mansfield and have fond (fun) memories of being in Troop 5 with Steve and Brian. In the 1990's I lived on Ingrid Drive and used to see Steve come in to the Plainville Mobil station where I worked part-time. He always had his youngest son with him and it was obvious that Steve was a loving, caring father and I already knew this about him as a friend. May each of you be comforted in knowing that he was loved and gave his love to others. God Bless, Bryan Nilson
