Maureen and Family, I was deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing and your loss. He was more than great to work with at TD, he was great to talk with. He supported his team professionally and personally and had a great impact on our lives as he did yours and the scout troop. Thanks for sharing him with us and know that he will be greatly missed.

To the Strickland Family and Friends. So very sorry to hear today of Jim's passing and your loss. I only came to know Jim over the last 2 years through Citi, and worked for him for a shorter period within that. I found him a pleasure to work with and for, an ally in all things that needed to change no matter how difficult the path, and a pleasant spirit even in the most difficult situations. You should know there are many colleagues writing within the company of the great things Jim did in the relatively short time at Citi, and perhaps more importantly how he did them. I hope that knowledge will go some way to support you in this difficult time. Condolenes and Best Wishes Paul Dunlop

To the Strickland family: Please accept my sincerest sympathy for the loss of Jim. He and I served on the FIRMA board together and were both TD Banknorth colleagues after the TD acquisition of Commerce Bank. Besides those things in common, we both followed the Red Sox and Patriots. Jim was a fine person of high ethical standards and common sense. Please remember him for all the good times you shared. Mose Price

To Jim’s family and friends. Please accept my condolences on your loss. Some people say that a man is alive as long as memory about him lasts. With a deep sorrow, I’d like to assure you that Jim’s attitude and achievements will be remembered not only in US but also in such a distant country as Poland.

To the Strickland Family: Words cannot express how saddened I am to hear of Jim's brief stay in this world, however please know that at Citi he made a lasting impact with his vision of the importance of risks and controls. His smile, laughter, and gentle way will be missed. A colleague of mine relayed this quote to me recently and I thought it very fitting to share with you: God saw Jim getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around him and whispered “Come to me” Condolences. Laura Kavalek

Shirley and I offer our sincere condolences to Jim's family and friends. Jim was a fantastic partner in building the Enterprise Risk Management team and function at Citi. Of course, we had our differences--I have this wonderful picture of the two of us diving into a Boston Cream Pie after my Blackhawks beat his Bruins in the 2013 Stanley Cup. And how he could love those Tar Heels better than my Jayhawks I will never comprehend. We were all very fortunate to have what time with Jim we were given. He is sorely missed. John P Davidson

To Jim's family and friends, my sincerest condolences. Jim was one of those extreme few who had the perfect mix of character, humor, integrity, humility, caring and wanting to do the right thing. He and I made frequent bets between the Pat's and Raven's, and on the most recent (unfortunately for Jim a Raven's win) Jim followed through on our bet and gracefully attended my staff meeting to extol for 10 minutes on how the better team had won. A class act throughout, quick to smile and put others at ease. I will miss him both personally and professionally. Jim Heckler

Dear Maureen and family, I was sad to hear of your loss. I was honored to have known Jim through our years of scouting, first in Cub Scouts but mostly as leaders in Troop 51. Jim was always kind and supporting of the scouts and adults. His compassion and concern was admirable. Karen and I remember fondly his help with Alan on his first weekend long camping trip. Jim and I never did get in as much golf as we talked about but we shared many memorable camping trips for which I am grateful. If we can help in any way please let me know. Tom, Karen, Christine and Alan Miller.

I first met Jim and Maureen at a real estate open house I was hosting on Cape Cod. They were my very first clients as I had just made a career change. I was nervous at first but Jim's laid back, easy going manner had a calming effect. Over the past 5 years I've enjoyed spending time with Jim and Maureen when they came to the Cape to look at summer homes. I especially liked when Maura was with them. It was fun to watch her and Jim playfully tease each other. Clearly this is a special and very loving family and it was a pleasure to get to know them. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I hope memories, friends and family provide strength and comfort for you. Fondly, Ron Rasmussen Jr.

"Integrity has no need of rules." -- Albert Camus. Jim defined 'integrity' in the New York financial services industry, the hardest market in the world. He kept an impeccable reputation, which was easy for him, when your core value system comes so naturally. As a boss, Jim met every person in the TD Audit department. You knew when he was talking 'fun' with a co-worker, because he would pull out the bottom drawer of his desk and lean his foot on it! It was quirky and his trademark, but you knew looking into that office, it was just his way of being a human. Miss you Jim :(

Sincere condolences to Jim's family and friends at this difficult time. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Jim in very recent years and will always remember fondly his joie de vivre and interest in others as well as his calm and considered approach. His smile and laugh left a lasting impression on those he met and worked with. With sincerest condolences and prayers. Catherine Waldby
