My deepest condolences to Bill's family. He was my previous Authorizer and one of the best men I knew at DVS. He was always there to guide me and help me he was one of those that I respected very highly. Always ready to help us out in the field and one of the most knoweledgeable men I have known in the field of Veteran Services. I have missed and will continue to miss his gruff stern always on the mark conversations. GOD SPEED to you Bill. USMC, Vietnam 1966 Dan

I'm deeply saddened to hear the news of Bill's passing, and wish to extend my condolences to his family and friends. I had the good fortune to have Bill as my authorizer for five years when I served as the VSO for Amesbury. Bill was a tireless advocate, and a force to be reckoned with when it came to our Veterans. Bill had a heart of gold and was truly a gentle giant. Rest in peace friend, you were the real deal.

Bill was my authorizer when I started working for the City of Beverly. People said he yelled and I should be careful what I said, he is mean. Being a Marine I though I know loud and I am never careful and I was a combat instructor I don't care. He and I got along great the moment we started working together. He gave me great insight to this position and it was fun to give him "crap" about being Navy. He would reply with " Shut Up Marine" I never got to meet Bill face to face but over the few months I worked with him we always ended up laughing on the phone as we would yell and call each other names. Always made me smile when he did that. He had a true military mans personality and those of us who embraced the military mindset would always have a good laugh with bill and the expense of those who got in his line of fire. He was just a Navy guy not a mean guy. He was not yelling he was making sure you could hear him. He was not mean, like the rest of us he just didn't accept stupid. I Will miss chatting with you on the phone Bill. David Perinchief USMC Combat Wounded.

Dear Aunt Ann, Barb, Nancy & Family My prayers have been with Billy for a long time now and now they are with you all. This is such a loss and so sudden. I walked the beach the day he passed and said my goodbyes to him. I know how much he enjoyed sitting with you Aunt Ann at the beach and swimming and I have a fond memory of the two of you sitting in your beach chairs together at Jenness. He also loved breakfast at Bettys and I will always remember the many times he treated Laurie and I to breakfast and good conversation. I do believe he is in a better place. Love to you all and my deepest condolences at such a sad time! Maura
