Obituary

Kovi M. “Rocky” George, 82, of Gorham, NH, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 5, 2012 at Catholic Medical Center, with his family by his side.

He was born in Auburn, ME on July 8, 1930, the son of the late Kovi Starva and Lillian Pearl (Conway) George.


He graduated from Edward Little High School and served in the US Army and the US Air Force for 20 years and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired as a Deputy Sheriff of Androscoggin County in Maine. Kovi enjoyed fishing with his family and gathering friends and family for a fall cookout of the summer’s catch. He was the coach of his daughters softball team and his sons baseball team. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, reaching the highest rank, the 4th Degree. He will be dearly missed by all.


Members of the family include his wife of 30 years, Lois (Bilodeau) George; he was the devoted father of Angela Thies, Kevin Flavin and wife Lisa and Robert Bilodeau and wife Sylvie; loving grandfather of Marie and Donald Thies, Emily and Allyson Flavin, Jeremiah and Heather Bilodeau and Ryannan Baron and great-grandson Devin Carignan. Kovi also enjoyed his large extended family of nieces and nephews, who survive him He was predeceased by four sisters and a great-grandson, Jayden Baron.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 8, 2012 at 10 AM at Holy Family Church, 7 Church St., Gorham, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM, prior to the service.
