To the wife and daughter of Ralph: I am very saddened to read today in the Herald of Ralph's passing. In the short time I knew him, he was always smiling, happy, and a great guy in general. He described himself to me as a "soft-hearted" person who just minds his own business. I wish you, his family my kindest condolences, I feel so bad that he is gone. God bless Ralph who is now in heaven.

To the entire Costa family.....There are special people and honestly, very rare people like Ralph that leave an impression on someone's life the way he did..I grew up in the North End and haven't seen "Junior" since moving from there and getting married! Yet, I live in Stoneham and have never bumped into him...How sad is that!!! I was so sad to see face and read the news of his passing today....My mind immediatley went back to the days on Hanover Street...the chats we had and always remembering that he was the kindest person I had the joy of knowing...I thank him for the wonderful memories I have of growing up in a loving, tight nit community. My prayers for all of you as I know the pain of loosing someone so close is unreal and painful. Sue, Damian, Nicole, Paula, Erin, Mia-- We are all so sorry for your loss as we know it's a huge one... In the 5 years that we came to know Ralph, he was always smiling, and he had a spark in his eyes that made you feel loved. He was gentle and kind and he genuinely cared about people around him, and he adored his family. Ralph loved life and loved to cook and entertain and he knew how to make someone feel comfortable in his home. Those are all things that we will remember about Ralph and all things that were taken from him by ALS. We will continue to fight in Ralph's memory so that ALS will no longer be able to rob people like Ralph of the ability to live and love life as they knew it. I hope you can all find some comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering on this earth, and he can now enjoy life forever with those who were waiting for him.
